Hit The Golf Ball Straight: Align Your Shoulder Line with Your Toe Line

hit the golf ball straightIn order to hit the golf ball straight, you should align your shoulder line parallel with your toe line. If you align you shoulders and toes parallel with each other, it will improve your golf game and lower your scores.

Incidentally, your shoulder line is the imaginary line that runs across your shoulders. Your toe line is the imaginary line that runs across your toes.

However, there is  more than merely aligning your toe and shoulder lines parallel wirh each other at final address to hit straight golf shots.

You must also have your elbow line parallel with your shoulder line at the completion of your pre-shot routine in order to hit your ball on a straight path to your target. When you have a parallel alignment between your shoulders and elbows,  your club face will rotate to an on line swing path.

In turn, when you have an on line swing path of your club face,  you correspondingly will have a square club face alignment. They work in concert with each other.

But there is even more required to driving a golf ball straight.

You also must have your shoulders aligned parallel with your target line at the completion of your set up routine.

Assuming you have established a square alignment and an on line swing path of your club face, have the sweet spot of your club face centered as near to the back of your ball as possible and have your shoulder and target lines parallel with each other at the completion of your set up routine, and,  assuming further, your shoulder and toe lines are parallel with each other, a non-manipulative golf swing will produce a straight ball flight.

This assumes also there are no wind conditions or elevation differences between your stance and your ball that could curve an otherwise straight ball flight off course.

A non-manipulative golf swing is one in which there is no inadvertent or intentional maneuvering of the club face during the swing to re-route the alignment and path of the club face.

One golf method to establish a square alignment and an on line swing path at final address is to grip your club with either an overlapping, interlocking or baseball style of grip and complete your grip by locking the lifeline of your right hand on your left hand.

Once you complete your grip you must not thereafter unlock your right-hand lifeline from your left thumb in any manner.

Then the last step in this set up process is to identify your target line, the imaginary line running from your target back to and through your ball, assume a comfortable stance and posture to your ball, align your toes and shoulders parallel with each other and center the sweet spot of your club face as near as possible to the back of your ball.

Then align your shoulders perfectly parallel with your target line by narrowing or widening your stance, if necessary.

At this point you will have established a square alignment of your club face and an on line swing path of your club face.

However, do not move your feet after aligning your shoulders and target lines in a parallel manner.

Ensure the sweet spot of your club face has remained centered as near as possible to the back of your ball, keep your left heel planted, maintain a steady head and execute a simple golf swing without any intentional or inadvertent manipulation of your club face during your swing.

In turn, you should hit the golf ball straight.
