Straight Golf Shots: Mechanical Versus Feel Players

straight golf shotsIn terms of hitting straight golf shots there are mechanical golfers on one hand and feel golfers on the other.

Bubba Watson is a feel player but hits incredibly straight golf shots. So is John Daly a feel player although his best playing days seem to be behind him

On the other hand, my assessment is that Tiger Woods is more of a mechanical player. Indeed, Tiger supposedly once remarked to Daly that He (Tiger) had to practice to hone his game where Daly did not need to practice as much. Mechanical golfers require more golf swing instructions than do feel players, it seems.

The question becomes whether mechanical players are better skilled at the game than feel players? I believe the mechanical players are better assuming they practice enough to keep their “A” game.

Here is a portion of a recent article on the issue:

“The jury probably will be out on this issue forever but Thinking of perfect golf swings brings to mind the names of greats such as Woods, Hogan, or Jones. But not everybody is a born champion. Tiger Woods’ perfect golf swing was shaped out ofyears of hard work, a lot of natural talent he was born with, and the rigorous training of expert coaches. Whoever it is you think about, when you imagine the perfect golf swing, they must all have some things in common. When they hit the ball, they do so with great power and precision. In order to improve your swing, there are some terms you should be familiar with-”

My Locked-In Golf™ Techniques  are purely mechanical. Yet they produce some of the straightest golf shots imaginable.

They simply lock-in a square alignment and an on line swing path of the club face during the set up routine which, in turn, locks-in a straight golf ball flight alignment. This is the most reliable golf method to hit the golf ball straight.

The straight ball flight alignment will remain locked-in during the remainder of the set up proceedings and the golf swing as long as the lifeline of the right hand is not unlocked from the left thumb.

Once locked-in, it just becomes a matter of assuming a comfortable stance to the ball, centering the face of the club directly behind ball, aligning the shoulders parallel with the target line and executing a simple golf swing.

Discounting cross winds and elevation differences between the stance and the ball, the ball will fly on a straight path in line with the target.
